(For Pet Owners and Pet Care Providers)

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Petsity platform, including our website, mobile applications, and related services (collectively, the “Platform”), operated by Petsity Inc. (“Petsity,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).
By using Petsity, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the Platform.
1. ELIGIBILITY
To use Petsity, you must:
- Be at least 18 years old
- Have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement
- Provide accurate and truthful information
By using the Platform, you confirm that you meet these requirements.
2. THE PETSITY PLATFORM
Petsity is a technology marketplace that connects:
- Pet Owners seeking care services
- Pet Care Professionals (sitters, walkers, groomers, trainers)
Important:
Petsity does not provide pet care services directly. All services are provided by independent service providers, not employees or agents of Petsity.
3. USER ACCOUNTS
A. Account Registration
You must create an account to use Petsity. You agree to:
- Provide accurate, current, and complete information
- Keep your login credentials secure
- Be responsible for all activity under your account
B. Verification
Petsity may require:
- Identity verification
- Background checks (for service providers)
Failure to complete verification may limit access to services.
4. BOOKINGS & PAYMENTS
A. Booking Process
- All bookings must be made through Petsity
- Booking details (dates, services, pricing) must be clearly agreed upon
B. Payments
- Payments are processed through secure third-party providers: Stripe
- Fees may include service charges, platform fees & applicable taxes
Off-platform payments are discouraged and may void protections (including the Petsity Guarantee).
C. Cancellations & Refunds
- Cancellation policies may vary by service provider
- Refunds are subject to the agreed cancellation terms
5. PET OWNER RESPONSIBILITIES
As a pet owner, you agree to:
- Provide accurate information about your pet (health, behavior, needs)
- Ensure your pet is vaccinated and safe to interact with others
- Provide emergency contact and veterinary details
- Disclose any history of aggression or medical conditions
Failure to disclose critical information may result in denial of claims or account suspension.
6. SERVICE PROVIDER RESPONSIBILITIES
As a pet care provider, you agree to:
- Provide safe, humane, and reliable care
- Follow pet owner instructions
- Maintain a secure and clean environment
- Comply with all applicable laws and local regulations
You acknowledge that you are an independent contractor, not an employee of Petsity.
7. TRUST & SAFETY
Users must:
- Treat others with respect
- Communicate honestly
- Avoid fraudulent, abusive, or unsafe behavior
Petsity reserves the right to:
- Suspend or terminate accounts
- Investigate complaints
- Remove content or listings
8. PETSITY GUARANTEE
The Petsity Guarantee is a limited support program, not insurance.
- Coverage is subject to eligibility, limits, and exclusions
- Applies only to bookings made and paid through Petsity
- Claims are reviewed on a case-by-case basis
The Guarantee does not replace personal insurance.
9. FEES & TAXES
Pricing must be transparent and accurate
- Petsity collects a 7% booking protection fee from users. This amount cannot exceed CAD$ 65.
- Service providers and users are responsible for reporting and paying government taxes wherever applicable (GST/HST/PST/QST).
10. SERVICE PROVIDERS COMMISSION
- Standard Member: 80% take home on every booking. 20% Platform fee.
- Pro Member: 90% take home on every booking. 10% Platform fee.
11. REVIEWS & CONTENT
Users may submit reviews and content.
You agree that:
- Content must be truthful and not misleading
- Petsity may remove inappropriate or false content
- Petsity may use content for marketing purposes
12. PRIVACY
Your use of Petsity is subject to our Privacy Policy.
We collect, use, and protect your information in accordance with Canadian privacy laws (including PIPEDA).
13. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES
Petsity may use third-party providers for:
- Payments
- Background checks
- Hosting and analytics
We are not responsible for third-party services outside our control.
14. DISCLAIMERS
Petsity provides the Platform “as is” and “as available.”
We do not guarantee:
- The quality, safety, or legality of services
- The accuracy of user profiles
- That the Platform will be uninterrupted or error-free
Users engage with each other at their own risk.
15. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
To the fullest extent permitted by Canadian law:
- Petsity is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
- Our total liability is limited to the amount paid through the Platform in the relevant booking
16. INDEMNIFICATION
You agree to indemnify and hold Petsity harmless from any claims, damages, or losses arising from:
- Your use of the Platform
- Your violation of these Terms
- Your interactions with other users
17. TERMINATION
Petsity may suspend or terminate your account if:
- You violate these Terms
- You engage in unsafe or fraudulent behaviour
You may stop using the Platform at any time.
18. DISPUTE RESOLUTION
Users are encouraged to resolve disputes directly.
If needed:
- Petsity may assist in mediation
- Legal disputes will be governed by the laws of Canada and the Provinces.

19. CHANGES TO TERMS
We may update these Terms from time to time.
Continued use of the Platform means you accept the updated Terms.
